A Note From a Buddies Couch

I am lying down on my friends huge ottoman writing a blog. What a way to end a snowy winters eve. It hasn't stopped snowing for two days and people are freaking out. Well what else are you going to expect from people from the greater vancouver area. I haven't seen this much snow in a very long time. It looks like it will be a white christmas this year.

Is it just me or am I getting older?! That seems to be the question I ask more and more now-a-days. Tonight I spent much of the day hating and cursing the snow, and later on I had a nice christmas dinner with my closest friends. It was odd seeing most of us dressed up and sitting at a christmas table, eating christmasy foods (prepared by one of my closest friend), while talk about the good old days. Are we lame or just getting older?! To our defense everyone tonight was only 21-23, but it had seemed like ages since we been together as a group. We we're revisiting old traditions and all at the same time creating new ones with our first official christmas dinner( at a friends house, with no parents, saying grace, enjoying homemade food, and seeing everyone dressed up nicely. It felt like a tradition was being born in the midst of our reunion.

The end of the night is far from the end of the dinner. The thing that confuses me a bit is that after dinner we played board games, and then HALO3! The first game i've played with the same people playing the same game, it was an unreal sight I haven't seen in more than 2 years. While I acknowlege that we have grown older and wiser, I love that we still havent let our childish behaviours go away. It is so awesome to see where we're going and where we;ve been as people. All it takes is a dinner and video games and I get the best of both worlds. MERRY CHRISTMAS! HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
